Summer/Fall 2010
The Mexican state of Guerrero has one of the richest mask traditions in Latin America and the world. For thousands of years, the masks have been used to represent mythical battles of good vs. evil and religious themes traced to the Spanish conquest, and are still seen in festivals and celebrations today such as the Day of the Dead and the Day of the Holy Cross. Come see The Masks of Guerrero exhibit, on display this summer and fall.

Now to September 26, 2010

Exploring the Frontier The Mississippi River was very important in the development of the United States. Native American culture was thriving in this region when Spanish explorers penetrated the area in the 1500s, followed by the French and English — all seeking adventure, fortune, or souls. Exploring the Frontier ignites the imagination and challenges the intellect while setting the story of the Arkansas experience as a crossroads of many cultures.
